COLLAB: SUSTAINABLE FASHION STREETS

Sustainable Fashion Week is pleased to be a strategic partner on the newly launched Sustainable Fashion Streets (SFW) mission.

They envision thriving sustainable fashion ventures on every UK high street. To realise this, starting and sustaining these businesses must become more accessible, and this is where their collaborators step in. Through mentoring and sharing their resources, they can support you to succeed with your sustainable fashion, clothing, or textile venture.

A UPS study revealed that 70 percent of small business owners who receive mentoring survive for five years or more, which is double the rate of those who do not receive mentoring.

As part of our 2023 programme SFS launched with an event series that delved into ideas and business models aimed at fostering more localised and circular clothing, textiles, and fashion economies.

The SFS collaborators shared their stories and insights gained from establishing ventures, including a clothing swap shop, repair and alterations services, sustainable styling businesses, and more. The SFS platform explores business models that could thrive in your community, and offers support from experienced entrepreneurs as well as an opportunity to become part of a dedicated community committed to mutual support.

Sustainable Fashion Week founder Amelia Twine is one of the SFS collaborators offering mentoring sessions, alongside stylists, alterations experts and clothes swap entrepreneurs.

Head to the SFS website to get more information about the mentoring sessions and how you can begin your journey with your sustainable fashion start up.
