As the driving force behind SFW HUB: Plymouth, Abigail aims to inspire collective action at a grassroots level. Educating, inspiring, and empowering the local community to help change their relationship with clothes.

 

THE VENUE

SFW HUB: Plymouth took place in the iconic Devonport Guildhall, a community-led space from Real Ideas. The weekend-long event showcased sustainable fashion through a feature a market, fashion show, talks, swap shop, workshops and more.

  • SUSTAINABLE FASHION MARKET

    A FREE Sustainable Fashion Market featured a variety of sustainable designs and creations...

    Vegan food and drink was provided by the Hedgerow Hound.

  • WORKSHOPS

    Workshops were held throughout the day at the Devonport Guildhall focusing on the themes of visible mending, upcycling, and more.

  • FASHION SHOW & TALK

    A range of sustainable designers showcased their work through the evening in the fashion show. Heidi Ondrak, also known as @duchessofthrift, hosted a talk and Q+A on sustainable fashion choices. Heidi only buys preloved clothes, household items, and audits her home to see where she can save energy and prevent food waste. By living thrifty, Heidi saves money, and a by-product of her actions are a more sustainable household.
