Birmingham City University is hosting a range of events for their students across 27 Sep - 5 Oct at the Parkside campus in the heart of the city and live streamed across their Instagram account.
From Sat 27 Sep midday you can view the timetable for events across the week and learn more about the Fashion department through the “Green is the new black” series of reels on the BCU Instagram. The BCU Student Committee will be livestreaming a discussion on their thoughts on sustainable fashion on Sun 28 Sep from 3pm.
Wednesday 1 Oct is a day not to be missed with BCU Swap Social hosting a swap and styling masterclass and Fashion Design lecturer Elizabeth Burton hosting two workshops: one utilising Rust Dye and another with The Sewcial Edit on the art of Sashiko Repair at the Parkside campus. If that wasn’t enough, the BCU Grow Garden is running a workshop from 11am-3pm giving you the opportunity to explore sustainable materials, natural dyeing, and mindful making inspired by the environment and circular design principles. Learn how to build your sustainable fashion brand in Sustainable Fashion Lab: From Vision to Brand.
Online events on Fri 3 Oct will be live streamed on Instagram including the How To Work in Sustainable Fashion talk from 11am, and the Behind the Seams Industry talk from 3pm. On Sat 4 Oct, you are invited to take part in an online wardrobe audit from 12pm.
